Downtown Retail Development
Tallassee’s historic downtown is poised for a vibrant revival. With elevated riverfront views, walkable blocks, and direct access from major corridors, the district offers prime opportunities for retail growth. The TRA is focused on fostering locally-owned boutiques, restaurants, and mixed-use spaces that complement our community’s character while attracting new foot traffic. With a renewed vision for infrastructure, river access, and public gathering spaces, downtown is set to become the heartbeat of Tallassee’s future.
Commercial Development
Strategically located between Montgomery and Auburn, Tallassee is an ideal location for commercial expansion. Highway 229 and nearby I-85 provide strong traffic flow and visibility, making the city a natural hub for professional services, hospitality, health care, and small business growth. The TRA works closely with city planners, investors, and entrepreneurs to identify sites and remove barriers for commercial success, ensuring projects align with both community needs and long-term sustainability.
Industrial Development
Tallassee’s industrial zone, located on the city’s outskirts, offers ample space for scalable development with easy access to regional transportation routes. The Tallassee Redevelopment Authority is a non-profit Alabama Municipal Authority created under Title 11-54A Code of Alabama. The TRA is authorized by the City of Tallassee to develop and promote public good and general welfare, trade, commerce, industry, and employment opportunities in the City of Tallassee and the surrounding areas by creating a climate favorable to the location of new industry, trade and commerce, as well as the revitalization of existing industry, trade and commerce.
