Commercial Development
Strategically located between Montgomery and Auburn, Tallassee is an ideal location for commercial expansion. Highway 229 and nearby I-85 provide strong traffic flow and visibility, making the city a natural hub for professional services, hospitality, health care, and small business growth. The TRA works closely with city planners, investors, and entrepreneurs to identify sites and remove barriers for commercial success, ensuring projects align with both community needs and long-term sustainability.
Industrial Development
Tallassee’s industrial area offers approximately 100 acres of available property within six miles of Interstate 85, positioning the city for continued manufacturing and industrial growth. Recent infrastructure investments have expanded road access and extended water, sewer, natural gas and drainage improvements throughout the industrial park, helping prepare additional property for development.
The Industrial Development Board of the City of Tallassee works to recruit new employers while supporting the expansion of existing industries. Tallassee already supports a diverse manufacturing base that includes aerospace, automotive suppliers, composites, metal fabrication and internationally owned companies. Its location also provides convenient access to the Auburn–Opelika area and Auburn University, giving employers proximity to a regional pipeline of engineering, technology and other STEM-educated professionals.
